Frances Cates Woodward Frances "Cissy" Cates Woodward, 66, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015 in Tallahassee. Family was at her bedside. She was born April 20, 1949, in Tallahassee, FL, the daughter of the late Bruce and Sarah Cates. She graduated from Rickards High School in 1967. She married William E. "Rusty" Woodward, Jr. on June 14, 1969 at The First Presbyterian Church in Tallahassee, FL. Cissy spent much of her adult life on a small farm in Gadsden County, FL where she raised her four children Edward, John, Sarah Kathryn and Bruce. She was a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow and a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association, the Palomino Horse Breeders of America and the Appaloosa Horse Club. She loved music, horses, spending time with her children, and working in the garden. She and her husband, Edward, eventually settled in Greenville, FL where she continued to garden and care for her horses. Survivors include her husband Edward of Greenville, FL, son Edward (April) and granddaughter Mirabella, son John (Virginie) and granddaughters Elea, Tess, and Adele, daughter Sarah Kathryn (Mike) and grandsons Reuben and Solomon, and son Bruce (Stephanie) and grandchildren Olivia and Sebastian. A small family service will be held at Old Philadelphia Presbyterian Church in Quincy, FL on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at 10:00 AM. Charles McClellan Funeral Home, Quincy, FL., (850-627-7677) is in charge of arrangements.. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests a donation to the Alzheimer's Association or to the charity of your choice.
