Obituary for Esther H. McCall
Esther H. McCall, 91, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on September 22,2016. She was born in Decatur, Ga. on April 4, 1925. She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Francis L. McCall, Sr., father, B.F. Hudgins, her mother, Gladys Pace, step-father, Claude Pace, And Sister, Kathryn Cameron.
Our mother met her husband while working at the Trust Company of Georgia in Atlanta. She was active in her church, her church circle, Girl Scouts, Women's Club. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and especially bridge with her friends. After her husband passed away, she worked at Padgett's Jewelers, for close to 20 years.
She was a wonderful mother to 4 children, Francis L. McCall, Jr. (Carolyn), Martha McCall Henderson (Everett), David L. McCall (Cathy),and Nancy McCall Peacock (Grant). She also has 9 living grandchildren, 2 deceased grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous special nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to her care givers, Mary Dawkins, Easter Roberts, Joyce McNealy, Patricia Thompson, Wendy Walker, Yolanda Allen, and the staff of Big Bend Hospice.
Services Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at 11:00, at First Presbyterian Church, Quincy, with visitation at 10:00 am in the church parlor. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Quincy. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Quincy, or Big Bend Hospice.
