Eleanor had no children but was like a second mother to her twin sister's daughter Lisa Spooner. Eleanor was a member of the Gretna Baptist Church and enjoyed going there until her health no longer permitted her to do so. She was also a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Tallahassee along with her husband while he lived. Eleanor enjoyed decorating her home and working in her yard and cooking. She participated in bake sales at Consulate Health Care for years by providing her delicious coconut pies.
Eleanor is survived by two sisters, her twin sister Erline Spooner of Quincy and Betty Jo Lester (husband Charles) of Tallahassee, and nieces and nephews: Lisa Spooner of Tallahassee, Chuck Lester (wife Tami) of Monticello, Dr. Robert Suber (wife Chris) of Clemmons, N.C., Jerry Suber of Quincy, Ron Poppell (wife Wanda) of Havana, Dr. Tim Poppell (wife Maggie) of Longwood, Fl., Jim Brewster of Tallahassee, Mike Barnhill (wife Allison) of Charlotte, N.C., Steve Barnhill of Lexington, N.C., Scott Barnhill (wife Lisa) of Raleigh, N.C. and Carol Templeton (husband Scott) of Winston-Salem, N.C. and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Craig Austin Puckett, Jr., her parents Drew and Lillie Haire, her sisters Annette Haire Suber, Dorothy Haire, Jenelle Poppell, Carolyn Haire Barnhill, a brother Alexander, and nieces Laura Lester and Regina Brewster.
