Obituary for Eleanor Marie Boykin Caito
Marie Boykin Caito (Ma), 91, passed away April 25, 2022 in Lynn Haven, Florida. She was born September 27, 1930 in Greensboro, Florida to William Harvey Boykin and Lurly Elizabeth Clark. During her early years, she enjoyed traveling and has lived in Maryland, Spain and Greece. She gave birth to her only child, James (Roger) Caito, May 27, 1950 in Greensboro, Florida.
She loved to garden and fish, anything outdoors, spending precious time with her granddaughters, family, friends, home and dachshunds. She enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles and watching old cowboy shows and movies. Her granddaughter, Gina, fondly remembers teaching her how to ride a bike while learning to do so herself! Her granddaughter, Schelly, enjoyed spending time outdoors with her, picking pears from her tree with her and sneaking off to feed some to her pony. Both loved to crawl into her lap no matter how big or old they were.
Eleanor is survived by her two granddaughters, Schellane Marie McCormick and husband Don; Gina Maria Caito and husband John Pupa; Jeanette Finch, her very best friend, and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Harvey Boykin; mother, Lurley Elizabeth Clark Boykin; brothers, Cleveland (Audrey), William (Harvey), Jr., Otha, and Oscar Boykin; sisters, Myrtice McPhaul, Thora (Tootsie) Parker and Mildred Boykin. She grieved everyday over the loss of her most precious son, James (Roger) Caito on July 13, 2020.
Graveside services will be Friday morning April 29, 2022 at 11am EDT at J.C. Whittle Cemetery, Hawkins Lane, Bristol, Florida. Visitation at 10am EDT.
Her granddaughters ask that you please consider donating to Covenant Hospice in her honor, as they were absolutely the most wonderful, caring and professional nurses during her several months in their care.
Charles McClellan Funeral Home, Quincy, FL., is in charge of arrangements.
