Edward H. Ligon of Bristol, Florida was born in Richmond, Virginia on January 25, 1932, and passed away in Blountstown, Florida, at 92 years, on August 23, 2024. Foremost Edward was a professed Christian, a member of the First Baptist Church in Bristol. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He had early careers with the Gulf Oil Company and Pepsi Company. He worked with Caterpillar through two dealerships located in the Washington, D. C. area and then in central Illinois for 38 years. He ended his careers as mechanics instructor and representative for central Illinois Caterpillar “TEPS” dealerships as well as a mechanics instructor for Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois. Edward moved to Bristol, Florida upon retiring from Caterpillar. He is survived by three children, four step children, and their families through four generations. His recent wife Eleanor Culverhouse Ligon of Bristol passed away on June 24, 2024.
