Obituary for Edna Stanley Revell
Edna Stanley Revell died September 15, 2014 as a result of heart disease and dementia. Edna was a hard working public servant, devoted wife, loving mother, and a feisty soul with a subtle, understated sense of humor. Born in Telogia, Florida on December 8, 1931, to Leon and Stella White, she attended Hosford and Telogia schools and graduated from Liberty County High School in Bristol, Florida in 1949. Her family of orientation included two brothers, Paul White and Bill White of Telogia and four sisters, Ellie Mae Kever and Nellie Faye Burke of Telogia, Opal Brown of Hosford and Dorothy Joyce of Tallahassee. She was married to Amos Stanley until his death in 1979. They raised four children, Dick Stanley of Hosford, Don Stanley of Blountstown, Greg Stanley of Ft. Worth, Texas and Pam Stanley Richter of Hosford. After her children were grown, she was elected by the citizens of Liberty County to be their Supervisor of Elections for 16 years. The trust placed in her would become the joyful service of her hard working life and career. While serving in this capacity she met and married the Liberty County Sheriff, Harrell Wood Revell, and they have been married for eleven years. She was a loving wife and mother, and generous of heart, spirit, and resources. Edna expressed great sympathy, compassion, and kindness for those less fortunate. Harrell Wood and Edna were known for their kind and generous gifts to those in need and this would continue after leaving their public service positions. The family would like to extend a very special thanks to Covenant Hospice for their compassion and care. She and Harrell Wood attended Telogia Baptist Church. Edna was a lifelong resident of Telogia and Hosford - except for the two days she lived in Bristol after she and Harrell Wood were married! For Edna, her earthly home was spelled, H-O-S-F-O-R-D, but now she resides in her eternal home, H-E-A-V-E-N. The service will be Friday, September 19, 2014, 11:00 AM, at Telogia Baptist Church, Telogia, FL. Family will receive friends at 10:00 AM at the church. A family service will be held at the Hosford Cemetery after the church service. Charles McClellan Funeral Home, Quincy, FL., (850) 627-7677, is in charge of arrangements.
