Obituary for Dr. Norvelle Guyton Simmons, Jr
Dr. Norvelle "Bud" Guyton Simmons, Jr., age 89, Clover, SC, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at his home.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at Calvary Baptist Church, 490 Griggs Road, Clover, SC, with the Rev. Dr. Elwood Seamster officiating. Interment will be in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, 1612 Providence Road, Quincy, FL., 32351 on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM.
Dr. Simmons was born October 20, 1931 in Chattahoochee, FL., to the late Capt. Norvelle Guyton and Eva Richards Simmons.
He is survived by his sons, William A. Simmons (Mary), Lake Wylie, SC and Michael T. Simmons (Mary Beth), Carolina Beach, NC, and a daughter, Carol J. Simmons (Douglas Fetner), Lake Wylie, SC. He is also survived by step-daughter, Melanie Walden (Jeff) and their children, Kate and Will and step-son, Michael Paul Aho (Kathy) and their children, Chandler (Kathy) and Matthew. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Charlene A. Simmons. He is survived by 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by many other friends and family.
