Obituary for Donald "Don" Farris May, Jr.
Donald Fariss May, Jr, aka #2, was reunited with his beloved Mary Lil on October 9, 2018. A graveside service is planned for Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Noon at Old Philadelphia Church cemetery with an informal gathering of family and friends for a true "Don"-style celebration to be announced at a later time.

#2 was born September 14, 1948 in Gadsden county to Donald Sr and Addie Bell May. Although he grew up in the Quincy city limits, his heart was always at the May Farm. As a small child, he spent countless hours at May Tobacco Company with his father, and became enamored with a passion for animals, children and the outdoors. After school at Abraham Baldwin College, he brought his beautiful bride and love of his life, Mary Lil Arrington May, to the farm, where they both resided until their passing. They welcomed their beloved daughter Emily May Lee, in 1978 and shared many wonderful years together on the farm. Not one to conform, #2 lived his 7 decades with abandon and by a single rule: never go anywhere you can't wear shorts.

"Uncle Don" is survived by his daughter & son-in-law Emily & Tyler Lee, granddaughters, Taylor and Anabelle, brother Fred May(Carolyn), sisters, Lawson Peacock (Grant) and Patricia Howell (Bob), numerous "nieces and nephews," family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Robert F Munroe Day School or First Presbyterian Church Quincy.

Charles McClellan Funeral Home, Quincy, FL., 850-627-7677, is in charge of arrangements.

Due to the hurricane the service has been postponed.

The service will be held on October 27, 2018, at 4:00 PM from the graveside at Old Philadelphia Church Cemetery.
