Obituary for Diane Elizabeth Massey Smith
Diane Elizabeth Massey Smith passed away at home in Lake Tallavana on October 1, 2015. She was born on March 9, 1960, in Quincy, FL, to R.L. and Betty Butler Massey. As a barber and hair stylist she had a life-long love of helping people to look their best. Diane had the gift of encouragement. She had a smile and encouraging word for all, friend and stranger alike. She always took time to talk with and listen to everyone she encountered. She left the world a little brighter where ever she went. She is survived by her husband, Carson Smith; mother, Betty Butler Massey; brother, Terrance L. Massey; nephew, TJ Massey (Sara) of Louisville, Ky; niece, Emily Massey (Morgan) of Washington, DC; great-niece Edie Massey of Louisville; in-laws, Nevins and Linda Smith; many aunts, uncles, cousins and devoted friends. She was predeceased by her father, R.L. Massey. Friends and well-wishers are invited to visitation at the home of Terrance Massey, 203 Alba Ave, Quincy, on Sunday, October 4, 2015, from 4 to 6 PM. Celebration of Diane's life will be 10:00 AM, Monday, October 5, 2015, First United Methodist Church, 18 W Marion St., Chattahoochee, FL. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Quincy. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Tallahassee Memorial Cancer Center Foundation, 1775 One Healing Place, Tallahassee, FL, 32308, or the charity of your choice. Charles McClellan Funeral Home, Quincy, FL, (850) 627-7677, is in charge of arrangements.
