Obituary for Charles Lee Daniels

Charles Lee Daniels, 86, of Carrabelle, FL passed away on September 16, 2024. Charles Lee was born April 5, 1938 in Carrabelle, FL to the late Charlie Daniels “the Barber” of Carrabelle, FL and Fannie Hicks Daniels from Eastpoint, FL. He was the oldest of 3 sons, William “Bill” Daniels and Carlos “Heyward” Daniels. Charles Lee graduated from Carrabelle High School in 1956 and went on to serve 5 years in the US Air Force Intelligence Department. On April 17, 1961, Charles Lee married the love of his life Karin Meta Dora Zuger from Wiesbaden Germany. They returned to Carrabelle and on September 1, 1961, Charles Lee began his 34-year career serving his home town as the City Clerk of Carrabelle and retired on September 01, 1995. Charles Lee became a father on September 1, 1966, when his only son Mark was born. They enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, reading, cooking and telling stories, but most of all spending time with family. In 1996 Mark married his wife Jennifer Skipper Daniels and Charles Lee became a grandfather of two Grandsons, Michael and Devin Daniels who he loved spending time with, including teaching them the old tales of “All the dogs had a meeting…”.


Graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Carrabelle, FL on Friday 09/20/2024 at 1:00 PM followed by a small celebration of life at the Curfew Lodge #73 Masonic Hall in Carrabelle, FL.


The family has requested that any donations made be done so in Charles Lee’s memory to Big Bend Hospice.
