Obituary for Bobbie Davidson Ferrell
Bobbie Paul Davidson Ferrell, 85, of Tallahassee, FL., and formerly of Quincy, FL. passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2014 at Westminster Oaks Health Center in Tallahassee. She was born in Opp, Alabama on Feb. 10, 1929 to Allen Lee and Ruby Agerton Paul. The family later moved to Gadsden County, FL. She was a graduate of Gadsden County High School in Quincy, a member of First Baptist Church of Quincy and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 58 years, and was elected Worthy Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter of Florida in 1986. Bobbie was the office manager and bookkeeper at Ferrell Construction Company from 1952-1983, when she retired. She loved spending the summers at her mountain home in Balsam, N.C., especially when her family came to stay. Bobbie and her dog, Sophie, made many trips over the years to North Carolina. She is survived by her husband, Carl E. Ferrell, of Tallahassee; her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Ann and Charles McClellan of Quincy; her beloved grandson, Casey Allen McClellan (Christa Cain) of Bristol, FL. and her very special great-grandson, Slade McClellan of Greensboro, FL; brothers, Quinton Paul (Jeanette) of Quincy and Mitt Paul (Joy) of Tallahassee; sister-in-law (that she thought of as a sister), Martha Davidson Parramore of Quincy; sister-in-law, Millie Graham of Tallahassee; brother-in-law, Charles A. Butler (Ann) of Tallahassee; step-grandson, Mac McClellan (Brenda) of Sawdust, FL. and many nieces and nephews. When Bobbie and Carl married she gained a loving family - Carla Ferrell (David) Cowles of Tallahassee; Carl E. (Jackie) Ferrell, Jr of Tallahassee; Patty Ferrell (Jim) Radney of Atlanta, GA and Fran Ferrell (Don) Lyles of Warrenton, VA; and ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Allen W. Davidson, Jr. on Dec. 23, 2003; her parents; a brother, Allen Paul, Jr. and two sisters, Blondean P. Butler and Grace P. Mercier. Services will be held Monday, January 12, 2014 at 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Quincy. A reception for family and friends will be held immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall at the church. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Quincy.
