Obituary for Betty Ruth Smith Suber
Betty Ruth Smith Suber, 87, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018, at home in Quincy, Florida. The youngest of 5 children, she was born April 5, 1930 to J. Ranie and Ruth Owens Smith. She moved to Quincy from Havana at age 10. She graduated from Gadsden High School in 1948 and married Richard Gregory Suber. They were married for 67 years before he passed away in 2016.
She was a loving wife and mother. She loved her church, her community and Robert F. Munroe School. As a member of Centenary Methodist Church for 77 years, she served faithfully.
She was a wonderful cook and homemaker. She loved the game of bridge and the many friends she played with. Above all, she loved her family and was a wonderful example of how to live life with a generous spirit and a kind heart.
She is survived by her children, Jimmy (Peggy), Greg (Sonja), Beth (Fount May); her grandchildren, Russell Suber (Jennifer), Katie Munroe (Ben), Trey Suber, Brooke Thomas (Lamar), Ashley May (Beth), Richard May (Melissa), Elizabeth May; and 16 great-grandchildren, Bo, Ella, and Brantlee Suber; Laura Louise, Ginger and Roxie Munroe; Hayes, Gregory and Whitt Suber, Hugh and Chase Thomas; David and Jesse May; and Lawre Bradley, Lucy, and Fountain May.

Funeral services will be held today, Monday, January 8th, at 11:00 a.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church in Quincy, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Robert F. Munroe, Big Bend Hospice or the charity of your choice.
