Anne Barbre Trippe was born August 28, 1928, in Vienna, GA, the daughter of Birdie Wright Barbre and James Cromer Barbre. She spent her formative years in Albany, GA, graduating from Albany High School with honors and attending Valdosta State College for Women.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and her brother as well as her beloved husband of fifty-six years, Cecil Gordon Trippe.
She is survived by her daughter, Cecilia Trippe McNeese (Bud) of Fairhope, AL; her son Paul Gordon Trippe (Phyllis) Columbia S.C.; four grandchildren Dr. Trippe McNeese, Lt. Colonel Tucker McNeese (Joni), Dr. Allie Trippe, Preston Trippe (Julia) and six great-grandchildren.
A member of the First Presbyterian Church of Havana, FL for life, she served in multiple capacities in the church over many years. In 2009 she moved from Havana to Fairhope, AL to be near her daughter. Anne then a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. She was an avid bird watcher, gardener and bridge player.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Covenant Hospice and Eastern Shore Rehabilitation and Health Center.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at 10:00 am at First Presbyterian Church. A private burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Havana, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Havana, FL, Trinity Presbyterian Church, Fairhope, AL, or Thornwell Home for Children, Clinton, SC.
