Robert Franklin Lee

Robert Franklin Lee, 84, of Sawdust, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, following an extended illness.
Bob was born on June 26, 1934, to David and Elsie Lee, in Fort Monroe, Virginia. He attended school in Tarboro, North Carolina, and graduated from Tarboro High School in 1952. He graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science and a Masters of Arts.
He served in the United States Army from 1957-59 in the Intelligence Unit and was stationed in Stuttgart, Germany.
Bob taught elementary school in West Palm Beach and was an elementary principal in Palm Beach Gardens. In 1967, he joined the staff of the Florida Education Association (FEA) and served as President from 1977-79. He retired from FEA as Secretary-Treasurer in 2004 and was the longest serving senior officer in the organization’s 132 year history.
He was a founding director of Andrew Jackson State Savings and Loan and was a member of the Board of Directors for Creative Benefits for Educators for more than 25 years. He was a Past President of the Florida Polled Hereford Association; served on the Gadsden County Zoning and Planning Board; and served as an elder of the Woodland Presbyterian Church for many years.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 65 ½ years, Marshall; his daughter Kathy Pack and her children Kristin Lambert, Rob Catledge, Trey and Georgie Pack, and Jonathan Pack; his daughter Elizabeth and Gary Davis and their children Lee and Georgia; four great-grandchildren, Luke and Chase Lambert and Blakely and Brenna Grace Pack; his sister Mary Jo Butler and her husband Virgil; his sister-in-law, Kaye Lee; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also fondly remembered by many friends, associates, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, David A. Lee and William G. Lee.
Bob truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures and his family. He found his greatest pride in his wife and family and the life they built on Youngblood Farms, a life spent loving and caring for horses, cows, and most recently birds. He will be remembered for his humor, his words of wisdom, his wonderful stories, and his kindness and generosity to others.
In celebration of his life, funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at 11:00 AM, at Woodland Presbyterian Church, Sawdust, Florida, with visitation at 10:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Quincy, Florida, following the service.
