Obituary for Harry Earl Priest
Harry Earl Priest, 78, of Tallahassee, and formerly of Quincy, died Friday, 02/03/2017, after a recent illness. He was born in Gadsden County on June 16, 1938 to Earl David and Nell Frances Betts Priest. He was retired from Talquin Electric Co-operative as a staking engineer. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He married Florence Cartledge of Quincy and they were married for more than 50 years. He was of the Baptist faith. He graduated from Gadsden High School, Quincy.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, at 10:00 AM at the graveside in Hillcrest Cemetery, Quincy, FL., until the service at 11:00 AM. Rev. Jeffrey Jackson, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, Quincy, will officiate.
He is survived by his wife, Florence Cartledge Priest, daughter, Harriet Kinney and son, Eric Lamar Priest, all of Tallahassee, and a sister, Mary Jane Rife of Indiana, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sons, Paul Allen and David Earl Priest, his parents, Earl and Nell Frances Betts Priest, brothers, Rudy and Gilbert Hampton (Red) Priest and a sister, Linda McDaniel.
